Update

Ella visited a new pediatrician yesterday -- a pediatrician who could scarcely believe that my 14 pound 4 month old baby was 7 weeks premature. After 4 months, Ella is in the 50th percentile for her weight (14 pounds) and in the 25th percentile for her height (23.5 inches). (Keep the fat jokes to yourself -- we've already covered them!) Generally with premature babies you base their developmental progress on their expected birth age versus their chronological age, but after just 4 months -- the doctor says that she is developmentally on target for her chronological age. We are stunned and grateful!

She's cooing, smiling, reaching, and attempts to roll over from belly to her back -- but at this point she still just looks like she's break dancing. Tomorrow she'll make her first attempt at real food -- rice cereal! Mmmmm!
