Ella informed me the other day that she was sometimes going to call Conrad "brother" and sometimes she would call him "Bucky!" but she would no longer to refer to him as "Conrad." She has stayed true to this decree since then.
Nicknames like these can be the kind that stick with someone for life. Conrad might be a freshman when Ella is a senior in high school. I can already envision him walking down the hall on his first day, trying to blend in, when, out of nowhere, he hears a familiar voice shout "HI BUCKY!" I'm sure he'll be thrilled!
