We ventured to another orchard this weekend to satiate Ella's main reason for wanting to go to an orchard in the first place, to pick her own apples. We were happy to venture out on such a satisfyingly cool day to collect the last of the season's apples. And when we say last we mean it -- I think we collected the last 5 winesap apples this orchard had.

Just 5? Yes FIVE. And it took us well over 30 minutes to find those. Conrad literally searched high and low, sometimes crawling under trees to retrieve fallen apples and other times plucking leaves from atop his dad's shoulders.

Ella wandered the rows calling "Here apples, apples, apples..." as her dad had instructed, and was sure to inspect each apple for perfection before putting it in her bag.

As you can see, Conrad was less than happy when we told him that were just going to settle for the 5 we had. Ella must've been satisfied though. As we climbed into the car, I heard her mutter to herself "Oh good, now we have food for the winter."
