A Day in the Life

With two hours to kill between dropping Pat off at work and when we were to pick up Ella from her weekend escapades in Kentucky, I thought Conrad would get a kick out of all the stairs down at Monument Circle in the middle of Indianapolis. Did he like the steps? Did he pay one bit of attention to the steps? Nope. The moment he saw the large fountains on either side of the monument, he could think of nothing else. He emptied my purse of pennies, hurling each one further than the last. The moment that was over, he decided it was time to scale the wall and get in the fountain...

Later, when I finally coaxed him to climb the monument steps, he discovered that there was a small opening under the wall that led down to the fountain. The sign said "Keep Off the Wall" -- it said nothing about crawling underneath it. Forget that it was at least a 10 foot drop to the water down below.

"What do you mean my head's too big to fit?"
