Meal Time Prayers
Conrad is very strict about our meal time prayers. As soon as everyone is at the table, he extends his hands and insists that others do the same. He then selects who else should pray in addition to him. He always prays. The beginning of his prayers are almost always the same. He quickly thanks God for each person at the table (if you're not at the table for that meal, you don't get prayed for) then thanks God for a selection of his favorite people who aren't at the table. His grandpas almost always make the list, and his grandmas, cousins, friends, and teachers get cycled in an out. Lately he's taken to also thanking God for whatever his favorite thing is that day. Its not uncommon to hear him thank God for the school bus, outside, or bounce houses. We were all very entertained the other day when, at the very end of the day, he added..."and thank you for Knock, Knock Jokes...". (Be forewarned, his knock knock jokes rarely have a punchline and tend to go on and on...."Knock, knock. Who's there? Ella. Ella who? Knock, knock. Who's there? Mommy. Mommy who? Knock, knock...)
