Christmas Break

Foster's first trip up all 340 stairs of the monument to wave down at Pat in his office window and a trip to the park. My efforts to keep everyone busy and active are proving to wear me out more than them.

Christmas Highlights

In the distance, we see an unidentifiable black and white heap sitting in someone's yard. Pat asks the kids what they think it is.

Ella: It kind of looks like a cow.
Conrad: (with disdain)  Noooo Ella. Its a panda bear!

Passing Time

This is what you find on your phone when a nine year old is bored and trying to keep an infant entertained.

A Kindergartner at Thanksgiving

I believe the kindergarten Thanksgiving feast is a long standing tradition. This week our own kindergartner has kept me entertained with his interpretation of the original feast. Heard this week:

"Mom, why did you pack me heart attack crackers for lunch?" (He thought the saltines I packed him were "hard tack" biscuits like they sampled at their pilgrim food sampling station)

"Mom, do we go to the king's church? If we do, we need to move." (He learned that the pilgrims left England to escape the Church of England - the "king's church")

"Do I take a bath in saltwater?" (This was after learning about the conditions the Pilgrims endured on their voyage)

"I would not even go on that ship because someone had a baby on there. I have a baby at my house and I don't like to hear him cry."

And totally out of context I heard him sing to himself, "Oh yeah, I'm a pilgrim..."

A Walk in the Woods

Halloween

I am pretty sure I've never got a good Halloween picture of the annual Cousin's Halloween Trick or Treat. So, keeping with tradition...fuzzy costume pictures from Brady's party and Trick or Treating.

The Hat

I think this hat is going to get some mileage this winter. So far its been to City Market and the doctor's office. My favorite part is how he tries to wear it with a straight face when he's out in public.

Ella's First 5k

Ella has shown an interest in and penchant for distance running over the past few years. After a friend did the "Color Me Rad" 5K last year, Ella has had her sights set on this race being her first official 5k.

Football Season

Foster's first NFL game on TV and first "Blue Friday".
