Its not always easy to snap a picture of Ella. She is a girl-on-the-go these days. Tuesdays and Saturdays she can be found on the soccer field. Monday nights she's taking art classes with her dad, and she's already practicing for her small solo and dancing part in the church children's Christmas program every Sunday afternoon. With the time that's left, there seems to be a revolving door of playmates, and, of course, there are books. Her only complaint about her weekly schedule...not as much time to read as she would like. She never leaves home without a paperback of some sort tucked under her arm.
As for "The Mitten" (formerly known as Butterscotch) she's busy eating us out of house and home, terrorizing Ruby, and chewing through small cords like she's a puppy. She's very much a feisty version of our old cat, Lucy -- nosy and lacking respect for your personal space. She loves us though, particularly Conrad. He carries her around the house like a rag doll. If anyone else tried to hold her like that, she'd bite them, but when its Conrad she just hangs there like its no big deal. As soon as he sits down, which is rare, she curls up in his lap because she knows he'll pet her until she falls asleep. In short, I think she's officially part of the family.
